A corporate donation to ZMT Primary Healthcare Network funds 33 clinics and 4 mobile eye clinics in Karachi's underserved suburbs, with the registrations, receipts and published results that finance and CSR teams need. Give as a grant, as owners' zakat, as sponsorship or in kind.

Primary healthcare treats common illness early and close to home, before it turns into a hospital case, so a CSR budget reaches a large number of patients. A gift to ZMT funds a network of 33 clinics that recorded 1,187,190 outpatient visits and 1,452,883 patients benefited in 2023-24, according to its annual report.
ZMT's mission is to bring quality, affordable primary healthcare to underprivileged women and children, with a strong focus on prevention. The work is organised into programmes that publish their own results, which makes it unusually easy to report on. In 2023-24, the hepatitis C programme treated 2,092 patients successfully, the vaccination programme gave 42,318 vaccine doses, and the Itmenaan mental health programme held 4,770 counselling sessions.
Health is also the third of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, good health and well-being, which many companies already use to frame their social responsibility reporting. Funding primary care in your own city connects that goal to people your employees and customers live alongside.

Companies can give in six ways, and many combine two or three in one partnership.
A one-time or annual grant to the general donation account, for the clinics as a whole or a named programme.
Zakat that owners or shareholders pay through the business goes to ZMT's separate zakat account and is spent on eligible patients.
Fund a day of patient care, a mobile eye clinic or a programme for a year. See clinic and programme sponsorship.
Products or services the clinics can use, agreed with ZMT before delivery. Listed with the other ways to donate.
Retail partners give one rupee from each sale, turning everyday transactions into patient care.
Medical and non-medical staff can give time through ZMT's volunteer programme.

A corporate donation to ZMT can earn a tax credit under section 61 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, because ZMT is an approved non-profit organisation under section 2(36)(c). The credit is capped as a share of the company's taxable income, so confirm the current limit with your tax adviser before the year end.
Approval under section 2(36) is granted by the Commissioner Inland Revenue, and the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy evaluates non-profits as the certification agency the tax authorities approved under SRO 1116(I)/2003. ZMT's PCP certification number is PCP-2018/547.
Keep the e-receipt for every transfer, issued in the company's name, together with a copy of ZMT's approval, which is on the legal certifications page. ZMT's guide to tax benefits of charitable donations in Pakistan explains how the credit is calculated.

ZMT can provide the documents CSR and finance teams usually ask for: its NTN (3922963-7), FBR approval under section 2(36)(c), PCP certification (PCP-2018/547), registration under the Sindh Trust Act 2020 and with the Sindh Healthcare Commission, Sindh Charity Commission certification, audited accounts and annual reports.

If your policy requires a site visit or a signed agreement before funds are released, raise it when you first contact ZMT, so the scope, reporting and payment schedule can be agreed together.

Choose a partner that is certified, publishes results by programme, keeps zakat apart from general funds and works where your company does. For CSR in Pakistan, FBR approval under section 2(36) and certification by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy are the two checks your tax and audit teams will ask about first.
A partner that meets these four tests lets you write a CSR disclosure from documents rather than estimates.

For public companies in Pakistan, the SECP's Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility) General Order 2009 calls for descriptive and monetary disclosure of CSR activity in the directors' report. A donation to a certified healthcare non-profit gives you both: the amount, backed by ZMT's receipt, and the outcome, drawn from its published programme figures.
The SECP order applies from the financial year beginning on or after 1 July 2009, and the SECP has since added voluntary CSR and ESG guidance, so check the current requirements with your company secretary. For the narrative part, the most useful figures are the ones ZMT already publishes for each programme: people screened, patients treated and doses given in a given year.
ZMT's guide to CSR in healthcare for Pakistani businesses goes further into planning a programme, choosing partners and setting goals.
A CSR budget at ZMT can fund a defined, costed piece of care. These figures come from ZMT's programme pages and homepage, and a budget can combine several of them or scale one up.
Request a ProposalA corporate partnership with ZMT starts with an email or call to agree the scope, followed by documents, a transfer and a receipt in the company's name. Most of the work is agreeing what the budget will fund and how its results will be reported.
Email info@zmtclinics.org or call 0323-2115770 with your budget, timing and the kind of work you want to support.
Settle the programme, clinic or sponsorship, the period, and the certificates your finance team needs.
Pay into the general account, or the zakat account for owners' zakat, and upload proof for an e-receipt.
Use ZMT's published programme figures and annual report in your directors' report and CSR communications.
Yes, on behalf of its owners. Zakat is due on the owners' wealth, including their share of business assets, and a company can pay it for them into ZMT's separate zakat account, where it is spent on eligible patients. Record whose zakat it is, and ask a scholar about calculating zakat on business assets.
Yes. ZMT is approved by the Federal Board of Revenue as a non-profit organisation under section 2(36)(c) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, so donations to it can qualify for a tax credit under section 61. The credit is limited to a share of taxable income, so check the current cap with your adviser.
Yes. Enter the company's name and a company email address in the donor details when you upload proof of payment on the ZMT donation page, and the e-receipt is issued to those details. Keep it with the transfer record and ZMT's approval certificate for your tax and audit files.
Yes. ZMT accepts in-kind contributions alongside cash. Agree the items with ZMT before anything is delivered, so that what you give matches what the clinics need and can store. Email info@zmtclinics.org or call 0323-2115770 with a description of what you can offer.
Coin for a Cause is ZMT's initiative in which businesses pledge one rupee from each sale to fund patient care. It suits retailers, restaurants and consumer brands with a high number of transactions, and because the business pledges the rupee, customers take part with every purchase. Contact ZMT to join.
A corporate ambassador is a company or business leader who represents ZMT's cause to its own customers, suppliers and network, one of the ways to give that ZMT lists. It works well alongside a cash grant or Coin for a Cause. Ask ZMT what an ambassadorship involves for your company.
Yes. ZMT welcomes volunteers from medical and non-medical fields. Employees can register through the Give Time form with their name, contact details and occupation, and ZMT's team gets in touch. A company can combine a donation with a volunteering day for a team or department.
Yes. International companies and foundations can transfer to ZMT's general donation account at Habib Metropolitan Bank, IBAN PK26MPBL0137027140162322, SWIFT code MPBLPKKA037. Contact ZMT first if you need documents for your own country's rules on overseas grants, so they can be prepared before the transfer.
Each ZMT programme publishes its yearly results, such as people screened, patients treated and doses given, and the annual report sets out network totals. Agree at the start which figures you will use, for which programme and period, so your corporate donation can be reported accurately in your directors' report.
Yes. ZMT Primary Healthcare Network, run by Zubaida Machiyara Trust, is registered under the Sindh Trust Act 2020 and with the Sindh Healthcare Commission, certified by the Sindh Charity Commission and the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, and holds NTN 3922963-7. Its accounts are independently audited.
ZMT's work supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, good health and well-being, through primary care, vaccination, hepatitis C treatment, child nutrition and mental health services. Its focus on women and children also connects with the goals on gender equality and on reducing inequality, if your reporting covers them.
Yes, ask ZMT which clinics or programmes are open for sponsorship. Published options include Rs 1,200,000 for a year of the Itmenaan mental health programme in one clinic and Rs 3,885,000 for a mobile eye clinic, and the cost of sponsoring a whole fixed clinic is quoted on request.
Tell ZMT your budget and goals, and get a proposal with the documents, costs and published figures your board and finance team will ask for.
ZMT is a faith-driven organization, dedicated to pleasing the Almighty by fortifying the Primary Healthcare system. Commencing its journey with just three clinics, ZMT has, over the past decade, matured into a network of 33 clinics strategically positioned across Karachi.
